Author: Chef James R. Kirkley, IV Vines Grille & Wine Bar in Orlando, FL serves all-you-can-eat bacon strips. In fact, owners shell out about $60,000 a year just to keep the snacks coming. Since I don’t live in Orlando & I like bacon, I often times make this recipe for Super Bowl parties.
Ingredients
- 1 Pound, thick-sliced bacon Applewood smoked (Nueske’s if you can find it!)
- 1 tablespoon, low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon, Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 cup, light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon, red pepper flakes
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line rimmed baking sheet with foil. I prefer Reynold’s Non Stick
Lay bacon on sheet in a single layer. Bake until they start to crisp, 12 to 14 minutes.
Flip the bacon and top with seasonings, starting with soy sauce.
Continue baking until browned all over, 12 to 16 minutes more minutes.
Drain on paper towels.
